Montreal contemporary jazz vocalist Deanne Matley develops deep connections with her audiences through her sensual style and stunning emotional range. With her eclectic repertoire and dynamic performances, she has achieved a strong reputation across Canada and internationally.
Deanne has toured famous clubs and festivals, including The Calgary Jazz Festival, The Medicine Hat Jazz Festival, The Quebec Jazz Festival, Upstairs Jazz and Diese Onze in Montreal, The Jack Singer, The Ironwood Stage and National Music Centre in Calgary and headlined jazz festivals in France and Mongolia. She has shared the stage and studio with jazz greats, including Tommy Banks, Jens Lindemann, Ranee Lee, Guido Basso, Al Muirhead, Larry Koonse, Bryan Lynch, and Marvin Stamm. Deanne received a full-page feature in Downbeat magazine and is a featured artist on several CBC programs. Deanne was a YYC Music Award nominee for “Female Artist of the Year” in 2019 and “Jazz Recording of the Year” in 2020. Leading her own groups, she is also a featured vocal performer with Le Cirque de la Nuit and Prime Time Big Band. Deanne’s numerous releases have landed four editorial Spotify playlists, and her 6th album, The Alberta Lounge, continues to receive raving reviews in Canada and abroad.
